It is now November of 2015. I can remember since the mid-seventies talking about how Russia with their allies in the latter days are going to be attacking Israel from the north and how God was going to intervene and wipe out five sixths of the invading armies.

With Russia establishing two military bases in the mid-east, one in Iraq and the other in Syria. Russia also fighting along side with the Iranian’s against ISIS and the USA turning their back on Israel it appears the stage is being set for the fulfilling of Ezekiel 38-39. In the book of Zechariah it states that Israel will be alone and surrounded on all sides. Thanks to the United States that is now the case.

Today I want to do a brief overview of these two chapters of the Bible so we can get a better understanding of what is about to transpire. In Ezekiel 38 we see who the players are. We have Russia, Persia who is now Iran, Libya, Ethiopia and Gomer which is now Turkey. The only country in this alliance that doesn’t seem to fit is Ethiopia. I did google “Ethiopia army” and found out that the Ethiopian’s have the largest army in Africa. If God says Ethiopia will be in the fight then I have no reason to doubt.

In Ezekiel 38:8-9, We read,  In the latter years you will come into the land of those brought back from the sword and gathered from many people on the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate; they were brought out of the nations, and now all of them dwell safely. 9 You will ascend, coming like a storm, covering the land like a cloud, you and all your troops and many peoples with you.” These verses gives us a picture of the coming invasion against Israel.

I am sure with the USA out of the way Russia with all its forces will think this battle will be like taking candy from a baby. However those armies wouldn’t be so quick to jump in the fight if they would have taken into account the God of Israel. In Ezekiel 38:18-22 The people of the earth are going to witness events never seen since the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.

This is what the armies of Russia can expect when they come against Israel. 1.An earthquake so great that every man and beast will feel it and the mountains shall be thrown down. 2. God will confuse the Russian troops to the point that they will fight each other. 3. Pestilence which is a fatal disease. 4.flooding rain 5.great hailstones 6. fire and brimstone. As advanced as our armies are today there isn’t an army on earth that could survive an attack of this magnitude.

What will be the outcome of this great battle of man vs God? In Ezekiel 38: 23, we can see what the outcome will be. 23 Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.” I don’t know about the country you are in but in the USA today it seems that most people don’t even believe in God anymore. I believe God is coming back on the scene in the near future to take His rightful place as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We can also see this this in Ezekiel 39:6-8, …Then they shall know that I am the Lord. 7 So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let them profane My holy name anymore. Then the nations shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel. 8 Surely it is coming, and it shall be done,” says the Lord God. “This is the day of which I have spoken.

How many times either on TV or in public do you hear the third commandment violated. The people misusing the name of Jesus. Jesus says that He will not let them profane His holy name anymore. Thank you God.

And finally in Ezekiel 39:21-24, We have God telling us that He will be known among the Nations. Currently the nations haven’t a clue as to who God is. Israel will know that He is their God from that day forward. God is also explaining to the Gentiles why the Jewish people went through all the calamities that befell them. 21 “I will set My glory among the nations; all the nations shall see My judgment which I have executed, and My hand which I have laid on them. 22 So the house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God from that day forward. 23 The Gentiles shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity; because they were unfaithful to Me, therefore I hid My face from them. I gave them into the hand of their enemies, and they all fell by the sword. 24 According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions I have dealt with them, and hidden My face from them.”’

The above events, most Christians believe, me being one of them, will be the start of the Great Tribulation. The last seven years before the coming of Jesus Christ to claim His title as King and God of the Earth.
This is what we can expect to happen in the coming months or years. According to Bible scholar Don Stewart in his words “it could happen now or it could happen ten years from now. If you would like to follow current events as pertaining to prophecy Don Stewart has an excellent website called “educatingourworld.com” click on “daily briefing”.

“And it will come to pass at the same time, when Gog comes against the land of Israel,” says the Lord God, “that My fury will show in My face. 19 For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken: ‘Surely in that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel, 20 so that the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, all creeping things that creep on the earth, and all men who are on the face of the earth shall shake at My presence. The mountains shall be thrown down, the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.’ 21 I will call for a sword against Gog throughout all My mountains,” says the Lord God. “Every man’s sword will be against his brother. 22 And I will bring him to judgment with pestilence and bloodshed; I will rain down on him, on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him, flooding rain, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.

After God wipes out the invading armies Ezekiel 39:11-12 says that Israel will be burying the dead for seven months. 11 “It will come to pass in that day that I will give Gog a burial place there in Israel, the valley of those who pass by east of the sea; and it will obstruct travelers, because there they will bury Gog and all his multitude. Therefore they will call it the Valley of Hamon Gog.[e] 12 For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them, in order to cleanse the land.
